5 Budget Friendly Beauty Hacks

8/16/2017

I am all about beauty products and looking and feeling my best. I love trying new makeup, hair colors/styles, and beauty trends, BUT this can get expensive! Nothing makes me happier than finding a beauty shortcut to save myself some money. I'm sharing with you guys five beauty hacks that I use that are totally budget friendly!

1. Use Lipstick as Liner

Am I the only one that tries a million beauty products before finding the perfect one? I can't even tell you how much money I have spent trying to find THE lip liner to match with all of my favorite nude lippies. After many failed attempts, I finally just decided to use one of my favorite lip crayons AS a liner, and now it's the perfect liner! So save yourself a little cash and don't be scared to use your lippies as liners!
Below, you can shop my favorite lip combo lately. I use the treStiQue lip crayon (color: Florence Fig) as my liner, and then the NXY lip cream (color: 595) on the inside of my lips. I then do a little blotting to blend the two a little bit and it turns into a beautiful nude/pink lip :)

2. Press on Nails

Yes, I said press on nails, lol. I'm sure the last time you used these bad boys you were 5 years old and they had Polly Pocket and Barbie printed all over them, haha! I was always OBSESSED with these as a little girl. Obvi because I wanted to look just like my mom :)
I recently tried these Nail Bliss press on nails and OMG, they are bomb! I wouldn't recommend them if you're wanting a week's worth of wear, but if you have a special occassion, these are so great! They usually last about 3-4 days for me. Did I mention you can get an entire set for less than $10? They have lots of different colors and shapes, and they take less than 5 minutes to put on. I was a little nervous about them at first because I have super tiny fingers and nails, but they fit perfect and aren't at all too long. Saves so much money and time!

3. Do Your Own Lashes

I know lashes and brows are a big deal these days. I can't really say much now because I currently have lash extensions, haha, BUT when I am trying to cut a few things in my budget they're the first to go!
I'm all about a DIY, so if you don't want to get involved with lash extensions or serum to grow your lashes, try some glue on lashes, or individual lashes that will give you that luscious lash look. Then top them with a thin coat of L'Oreal Voluminous mascara. This is the perfect solution for special occasions.

4. Self Tanner

No need to spend hours laying out, or pay for a tanning membership, ladies! I am ALLLL about self tanner! I used to tan in the tanning beds before I realized how horrible it was for me. THEN I moved to spray tans, but those get expensive. I finally tried this tanning mousse from St. Tropez, and it was a total game changer! You simply put a few pumps of the mousse onto your tanning mitt (linked below), and rub it into your skin. One day I went to Ulta to get my St. Tropez tanner, and they were sold out, UGH! So I tried this St. Moriz brand and actually like it just as much! ANDDDD it's a lot less expensive (only $12.99)! If you don't like the mousse formula, you can always try the mist or the lotion. The mousse just happens to be my favorite. I get the color: Dark.

5. Brighten Your Locks w/o the Salon

I recently got a balayage and I absolutely love it! BUT my hair tends to pull a brassy color no matter if it's blonde or brown. To keep it bright and less brassy, I like to use this Shimmer Lights purple shampoo. I used to think I needed to run to the salon to get it redone every time it got brassy, but turns out this little shampoo will postpone your next trip to the salon (which saves some major money)!
I use this Shimmer Lights Shampoo a few times each week and don't leave it in my hair any longer than a minute. You don't wan to leave this in your hair for very long because you may just end up with purple locks! My mom is a blonde and keeps her hair highlighted and SWEARS by this stuff. It's also super affordable and has lasted me a while!
