Anyone that knows me understands my planner obsession. I have had one every single year since 6th grade! I'm either cray-cray or it's just that Type-A blood pulsing through my veins, lol. Either way, I am convinced that a planner makes life so much easier. Here are 5 reasons why I think everyone needs to abide by a planner! I just got a new planner by May Designs, and LOVE IT! You get to design your very own CUSTOM agenda or notebook! There are so many adorable prints, fonts, and designs to choose from! ***** I HAVE A 25% OFF PROMO CODE LISTED FOR Y'ALL, BELOW ;) ***** 1. Give Your Brain a RestI don't know about you guys, but my brain gets a little fogged when I have a ton of stuff to remember. Grocery lists, things to do, events to attend, etc! AHHH! If I try to remember all of this, I am bound to forget something. One reason I am so obsessed with having a planner is because I can write everything down, and I can give my brain a rest. I don't have to worry about making two trips to the store because I forgot something the first time! It allows me to think beyond a to-do list, and focus on one thing at a time. 2. You're More ProductiveAt the beginning of every day I make a to-do list in my planner. Call me crazy (or Type-A) lol, but this makes my day SO much more productive! When you have a list in front of you and you know exactly what has to be done that day, you are able to manage your time better to get it all accomplished. IT allows you to prioritize! If your planner breaks your weeks down by individual days, use this space to create your daily list. 3. Reduces StressHave you ever had that frantic moment when you should have been somewhere and you TOTALLY forgot? Yes, this happens to everyone at times, with or without a planner, BUT it's way less likely if you have your month laid out in front of you. Like I said above, you're bound to forget something if you're trying to just remember it all. Give your brain a break, and I promise it will reduce your stress level too! 4. Creative OutletI can remember in 6th grade when I went to middle school, my mom bought me the school planner they were selling to students. I remember the cover of it being so ugly, lol. I took it home that night and spent hours cutting out magazine pictures to create a collage of pink clippings to tape to the cover of my planner. I covered the inside with stickers, and colorful doodles. Well y'all nothing has changed, lol! I now color code my planner (red for bills, pink for blog events, etc.) and use stickers galore! It's a fun little creative outlet, and makes it more pleasurable to look at! 5. Helps You Reach GoalsI am always scribbling down goals in my planner. whether they are big or small. For instance, I may set a goal to have answered all of my emails before noon on a Friday. Or I may set a goal to be able to run a solid two miles by the end of the month. No matter what your goals are, your daily to-do lists are a perfect daily reminder of what you're working towards. Be your own cheerleader and make a note half-way through the month saying, "15 days until my 2 mile goal! DON'T GIVE UP!" I know this sounds cheesy, but it will keep you motivated and focused. When you're mentally prepared, your body will follow suit.
