Happy Cinco de Drinko! I mean, Mayo ;)
I feel like most years I haven't paid too much attention to Cinco de Mayo, but for some reason I've been really excited about it this year, lol. Maybe because I really need an excuse to sip margaritas, and eat chips and guac? Perhaps! ;) I decided to do a little research because to be 100% honest, I really had no idea what Cinco de Mayo was even celebrating. Apparently, Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) began as a celebration of the Mexican army's victory over France in the 1862 Battle of Puebla. To my surprise, I found that it's actually a very minor holiday in Mexico, however us Americans commemorate the Mexican culture and heritage (leave it up to the Americans to find an extra day to drink tequila and eat tacos, haha)! I know holidays like these are so much fun to celebrate (especially when they fall on a Friday), but then you have that daunting questions... "What are we going to do?" Now that we know what we are celebrating, and what we are doing, let's talk about what to wear for the occasion! My outfit of choice is the one linked above - a breezy tasseled dress! Y,all this dress is under $20... JUST SAYIN! Now I know you can't get it in time for the weekend, but it's the perfect summer dress for parties and vacations!
I am SO into the tassel, embroidered trends right now! It just so happens that these little trends are so perfect for Cinco de Mayo! It really wasn't hard for me to pick out several pieces in my closet that are perfect for the occasion (because of my obsession with these trends), but if you are looking at your closet now, and not having the same luck as myself (lol) don't you worry! Okay, so we now know what we are celebrating, what we are doing, AND what we are wearing...
